Connecting to Culture and Country in Parramatta Parklands

On 17th February 2021, Gone Bush hosted our second annual 'Culture & Wellbeing Event' in the Parramatta Parklands in collaboration with Parramatta Chamber of Commerce and City of Parramatta.

Culture & Wellbeing Event Parramatta Parklands

With Parramatta fast becoming one of Australia's most important cultural and economic capitals, this unique and intimate yearly event is designed to gather business and community leaders and deepen their connection, understanding and appreciation of the region’s cultural and natural heritage while providing a platform to reconnect and refocus on wellbeing and leadership.

Building on the success of the inaugural event in 2020, this year's event once again kicked off with a traditional Aboriginal smoking ceremony followed by a guided walk around the Parramatta Parklands in which wellbeing and leadership were explored through the lens of Aboriginal culture. For the first time, the event also included an incredible dance performance by the crew at Gawura Cultural Immersions led by Dharug performer and cultural man, Stuart McMinn.

We were also pleased to welcome Cushman & Wakefield as a new sponsor for the event, demonstrating the business community's willingness to support the initiative and cultivate a greater connection to the natural and cultural heritage of the Parramatta region.

A special thanks to Councillor Patricia Prociv from City of Parramatta, Schon Condon and Romina Bousimon from Parramatta Chamber of Commerce and the team at Parramatta Parklands for their support and collaboration on this very special event. We look forward to continuing this partnership well into the future and seeing this event grow to become an important part of the story of Parramatta.
